Education & Credentials
Amanda completed a Bachelor’s degree in Specialization Psychology from Concordia University, as well as Master’s degrees in Educational Psychology and Counselling Psychology from McGill University. She is a licensed counsellor with the Ordre des Conseillers et Conseillères d’Orientation du Québec (OCCOQ) and holds a psychotherapy permit from the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec (OPQ).
Training & Experiences
Amanda has extensive experience working closely with teachers, educators, and parents, providing training, coaching, and consultation on various challenges in schools and at home. Her expertise includes working with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), parenting strategies, and behaviour management.
Current Work
In recent years, Amanda’s focus has shifted to providing counselling and psychotherapy to adolescents (17+) and adults. She specializes in helping clients navigate life transitions, emotional regulation, academic challenges, interpersonal relationships, executive functioning difficulties, depression, and anxiety. Amanda incorporates evidence-based approaches in her practice, including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based strategies. Her goal is to support clients in achieving meaningful change and personal growth through a collaborative therapeutic process.
Amanda’s diverse educational background and professional experiences have contributed to making her a well-rounded psychotherapist. She draws from her knowledge of psychology, education, and counselling to tailor interventions to each individual’s unique needs. Amanda believes in the importance of a strong therapeutic alliance and works collaboratively with her clients to foster wellbeing and help them live more fulfilling lives.
