Cognitive Processing Therapy
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a type of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy that helps individuals develop more accurate and balanced beliefs about themselves, others, and the world. It is based on the idea that people’s thoughts and beliefs about themselves, others, and the world around them can be affected by traumatic experiences, and that changing those thoughts and beliefs can lead to a reduction in symptoms of postraumatic stress disorder.
The aim of CPT is to help you to identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and beliefs that have developed as a result of traumatic experiences and to lead a more fulfilling and satisfying life by reducing the impact of these experiences.
