Schema Therapy
The aim of Schema Therapy is to help you identify and change maladaptive patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that originate from childhood experiences and have become ingrained over time. Schema Therapy views these maladaptive patterns as “schemas,” or core beliefs that develop early in life and are reinforced through repeated experiences. These schemas can cause you to perceive yourself, others, and the world in ways that are inaccurate, negative, or self-defeating, and can lead to emotional distress and difficulties in relationships.
Schema Therapy will help you to identify your schemas, to understand how they developed, and to learn to challenge and modify them, thereby leading to a more fulfilling and satisfying life.
