Current Work

Following his residency, Dr. Chauvin was hired as a neuropsychologist at the Montreal Neurological Hospital, where he works with patients presenting with a variety of conditions (e.g., concussions, epilepsy, neurocognitive disorders). Until recently, he also took on a psychotherapy mandate with individuals living with chronic health conditions such as multiple sclerosis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Currently, Dr. Chauvin continues his neuropsychology practice at the Montreal Neurological Hospital, in addition to his work at the Elevate Psychotherapy and Wellness Clinic. He also recently became a Clinician-in-Residence at Concordia University, where he teaches graduate students how to conduct neuropsychological assessments.

In his psychotherapy practice, Dr. Chauvin focuses on helping adults manage anxiety, whether it manifests as an anxiety disorder, transient life stressors, or as a result of chronic health conditions. He also offers psychotherapy to adults or caregivers of adults who experience grief/loss in the context of either acute (e.g., brain injury) or chronic health conditions. Dr. Chauvin draws from evidence-based psychotherapeutic approaches such as cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), with a focus on helping individuals live a meaningful life. As a neuropsychologist and a clinical psychologist, Dr. Chauvin also incorporates knowledge of the interplay of brain and behaviour in his psychotherapy practice in order to tailor psychological interventions to an individual’s needs. He believes in psychotherapy as a collaborative process, in which both the therapist and the client have equally important roles to play in order to foster wellbeing.
