Her current doctoral research focuses on interpersonal processes within romantic relationships and the ways in which partners can support one another in making health behaviour changes.
Maegan’s graduate studies are supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences.
Training & Experiences
Maegan has clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in both hospital and community-based settings. Her clinical training includes acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and motivational interviewing, as well as training in psychodynamic approaches. She has supported clients navigating anxiety, body image and eating-related concerns, interpersonal difficulties, life transitions, and behaviour change.
Her assessment experience includes psychoeducational, psychodiagnostic, and psychosocial assessments, developed through her training at Concordia University’s Applied Psychology Centre and the Bariatric Surgery Program at Toronto Western Hospital. She has also worked as a psychometrist at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, where she administered psychosocial measures with children and families.
Current Work
Maegan is currently completing her second external practicum at Elevate Psychotherapy and Wellness Clinic. She works primarily with adolescents and young adults experiencing concerns such as anxiety, body image, life transitions, interpersonal difficulties, and challenges related to behaviour change.
In her psychotherapy practice, Maegan takes a client-centred and collaborative approach, drawing from ACT, CBT, and motivational interviewing to tailor treatment to each client’s individual needs, values, and goals. She strives to create a warm, non-judgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences, developing a deeper understanding of their patterns, and working toward meaningful and sustainable change.
