Education & Credentials
Lisa is in the final stages of her doctoral degree in School/Applied Child Psychology at McGill University. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Honours Psychology from McGill University, where she also pursed a Master’s degree in School/Applied Child Psychology. Throughout her academic career, she has been awarded several prestigious university and federal fellowships, including the Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship. Her doctoral research explores how we perceive and recognize emotions across the lifespan, shedding light on the ways multisensory experiences shape emotional understanding.
Training & Experiences
Lisa has presented her work at various local, national, and international conferences and has co-led clinical workshops on key topics such as bullying, emotional regulation, social skills, and on assessment and diagnosis at the Canadian ADHD Resource Alliance (CADDRA) conference. Her ability to translate research into practical strategies has earned her recognition in both academic and clinical spaces.
Lisa has completed her clinical training in a variety of settings, including the McGill Psychoeducational and Counselling Clinic, the Lester B. Pearson School Board, and private practice. These diverse experiences have equipped her with the skills to deliver comprehensive mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, and caregivers. As a psychology intern, Lisa received specialized training in dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) through a Linehan-Board Certified program at Grey Zone Psychology Wellness. She is also trained in several other interventions, such as cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), and trauma-informed approaches, providing a well-rounded toolkit to meet her clients’ needs.
Current Work
Lisa is a pre-licensed student member of the Order of Psychologists of Quebec (OPQ), currently practicing under the supervision of licensed psychologists at Elevate Psychotherapy and Wellness Clinic. Throughout her predoctoral clinical training, she has developed expertise in supporting individuals struggling with anxiety, emotional dysregulation, perfectionism, suicidality, and self-harm. Lisa is dedicated to helping individuals explore, heal, and grow. She prioritizes fostering a genuinely authentic therapeutic relationship and creating a safe, validating environment. This balanced approach allows her to deeply understand her clients’ experiences, thoughts, and feelings while effectively challenging them to achieve their goals.
