Training & Experiences
Dr. Crivello received extensive training with children and adults at distinguished training facilities that include, but are not limited to, the Herzl Family Practice Centre (Teenage Health Unit) at the Jewish General Hospital and the Departments of Psychology and Psychiatry at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Part of her training included working closely with a leading expert in OCD through Concordia University.
Dr. Crivello completed the last stage of her clinical training as a pre-doctoral resident at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, where she refined her skill-set in individual, group, and family interventions, as well as comprehensive assessments across pediatric populations. There, she trained with expert clinicians and healthcare providers in Chronic Pain, Adolescent Medicine, Psychiatry, Pediatric Trauma, Nephrology, and Pediatric Preschool Psychology. This permitted Dr. Crivello to develop expertise with a variety of acute and complex difficulties within inpatient and outpatient settings. She also became skilled at delivering group interventions to help youth and their families address challenges with anorexia nervosa, chronic pain, and anxiety/stress management.
Following her residency, Dr. Crivello was hired at the Montreal Children’s Hospital as a psychologist and worked in the Departments of Psychology and Psychiatry in outpatient and inpatient psychiatric settings. Within the Department of Outpatient Psychiatry, Dr. Crivello worked as part of the Evaluation and Stabilization of Complex Cases (ESCC) team, in which her role was to provide individual psychotherapy to children and adolescents who present with complex mental health difficulties, as well as partake in diagnostic assessments as part of a multidisciplinary team. Within this role, Dr. Crivello developed a group intervention to help adolescents cope with the COVID-19 pandemic, titled QUARANTEEN: Helping Teens Cope with COVID-19. Additionally, Dr. Crivello has worked in the Pediatric Psychiatry Care Program (PPCP) at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. The PPCP is an 8-bed inpatient unit that offers psychiatric services to children and adolescents who present with severe mental health difficulties and suicidality. At this setting, she provided crisis interventions to youth admitted to the unit and transitional care to those waiting to be connected with community resources. An additional focus of her work was to supervise and mentor senior doctoral students who were training in the PPCP.
Current Work
Dr. Crivello currently works in the private sector, specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders and OCD. In addition to treating anxiety and OCD, she offers psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and young adults presenting with, but not limited to, depression, emotion regulation difficulties, trauma, low self-esteem, interpersonal problems, life stressors, and perfectionism.
Aside from the services she provides to her clients, Dr. Crivello is passionate about training students and professionals. She is one of the co-developers and facilitators of a series of workshops offered to school boards in Montreal aimed at helping school professionals learn trans-diagnostic strategies to support their adolescent students with mental health difficulties. Moreover, Dr. Crivello is involved in the supervision of doctoral level students working at Elevate Psychotherapy and Wellness Clinic. She hopes to share her passion and expertise in the field of OCD with trainees in order to help increase access to specialized treatment for OCD in Quebec.
