Education & Credentials
Dr. Émilie Fletcher completed her doctoral degree in Counselling Psychology at McGill University in 2025. She also holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (2020) and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (2016), both from McGill University. Throughout her academic training, Dr. Fletcher received several honours and scholarships in recognition of her research and academic achievements, including awards from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, Fonds de recherche société et culture Québec, and McGill Dean’s Excellence Fellowships. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and she has presented her work at both national and international conferences.
Training & Experiences
Dr. Fletcher developed extensive clinical experience through a variety of practicum placements with adults presenting with diverse concerns. During her pre-doctoral internship at the McGill University Health Centre, she provided individual and group psychotherapy through the Mood and Anxiety Disorders program as well as the Prevention and Early Intervention for Psychosis (PEPP) program. In these roles, she worked collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support comprehensive care. She also completed practicum training in specialized eating disorder services and generalist clinical settings, which strengthened her versatility in working with a wide range of populations and clinical presentations.
Current Work
Dr. Fletcher currently works as a psychologist at the Bipolar Disorders Clinic within the Complex Mood Disorders Program at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute. She has a particular interest in supporting individuals experiencing mood, anxiety, psychotic, eating, and personality disorders, as well as those facing interpersonal difficulties, low self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, and challenging life transitions. She takes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT). Her therapeutic style is person-centered, collaborative, and tailored to the unique needs of each individual. Dr. Fletcher is deeply committed to cultural sensitivity and competence, and she is fluent in both French and English.
