Education & Credentials

Dr. Kuzyk earned her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Concordia University and is a licensed member of the Order of Psychologists of Quebec. Throughout her graduate studies, she received federal and provincial scholarships and academic awards recognizing her excellence in the study of child development from infancy through adolescence. Dr. Kuzyk’s doctoral research focused on the impact of peer victimization on the mental health of gender-diverse youth. Her work has been presented at national and international conferences and published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Training & Experiences

Dr. Kuzyk completed her pre-doctoral residency at BC’s Children’s Hospital, an internationally recognized center for specialized training in pediatric medical psychology, youth mental health, childhood trauma, and developmental assessments. There, she trained with leading experts in pediatric eating disorders, OCD, chronic pain and somatization, as well as complex and medical trauma. This residency built upon her foundational experiences at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, where she collaborated with the Adolescent Medicine, Chronic Pain, and Pediatric Trauma teams. These experiences equipped Dr. Kuzyk with expertise in individual, group, and family-based interventions for youth with diverse backgrounds across inpatient, outpatient, and residential settings. She also developed advanced skills in attachment-focused assessments for youth with complex trauma histories.

Dr. Kuzyk sought additional training in community settings to provide accessible mental health support and diagnostic services. She gained experience in a specialized school for children with developmental disorders and at a community mental health center in Kahnawake, Quebec. This training is particularly important to Dr. Kuzyk, as it reinforced her early clinical interests that led her to pursue graduate studies in psychology.
