Education & Credentials
Alyssa completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Concordia University in 2022, followed by a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from McGill University in 2024. She is currently completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Concordia University, where her research examines the relationship between hearing loss and cognition.
Training & Experiences
Alyssa has received clinical training in both psychotherapy and neuropsychological assessment across the lifespan, working with adolescents, adults, and older adults. Her training has included comprehensive assessments for ADHD as well as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)-based interventions with a focus on emotion regulation and anxiety. She is currently completing an external clinical practicum in the Adult Neuropsychology Service at the Allan Memorial Institute (MUHC), where she conducts neuropsychological evaluations for ADHD, traumatic brain injury, neurocognitive disorders, and the cognitive effects of psychiatric and medical conditions. In August, she will begin her second practicum at the Traumatic Brain Injury Program at the Lethbridge-Layton-Mackay Rehabilitation Centre.
Current Work
In addition to her practicum training, Alyssa works as a PhD student clinician at Elevate Psychotherapy and Wellness Clinic, providing services to children, adolescents, and adults navigating a range of emotional and behavioural challenges. She draws from an integrative, evidence-based approach — weaving together Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) — while tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs and goals.
